GHRP-6
A classic ghrelin-mimetic that boosts growth hormone and appetite.
Overview
GHRP-6 is one of the earliest and most widely studied synthetic growth hormone secretagogues. Like GHRP-2, it stimulates growth hormone release by mimicking ghrelin, but it is also noted for a marked increase in appetite, making it popular in appetite and muscle-building research.
Dosing
Injection
- Starting dose
- 100 mcg
- Common dose
- 100–300 mcg
- Frequency
- 1–3× daily
- Notes
- Strongly stimulates appetite; take near meals if hunger is unwanted.
Reported research/reference doses for educational purposes only. Always verify against primary literature and applicable regulations. Not medical advice.
How it works
GHRP-6 binds the ghrelin/GHSR-1a receptor to trigger growth hormone release. It also modulates neuroendocrine appetite pathways, increasing hunger, an effect leveraged in research on cachexia and appetite stimulation.
Common research uses
- Growth hormone release research
- Appetite stimulation studies
- Muscle and recovery research
- Cachexia and wasting research
Considerations
Strongly increases appetite, which may be undesirable for some. Can raise cortisol and prolactin. Research compound; use in controlled settings only.
